We Love Shooting With Gina!
Jun 5th, 2006 by cj
It’s getting to the point that our little one jumps up and down in excitement when she hears Gina’s coming over for a shoot. This shoot was the best one yet, so many quality shots and even a few learning experiences. As we were shooting, I noticed the sun coming through the front window cast a very interesting shadow. I quickly moved Gina in front of the shadows and started clicking away. Usually I’m a terrible chimper but today I didn’t. I wish I had! I was out of focus half the time and the other time I was under exposed. Silly rookie mistakes but honestly, no surprise. I constantly remind myself I need to slow down, take my time and get it right. It’s so hard though. Hopefully a disappointing lesson like this will learn me.
(Probably not)
The boxer idea was Gina’s and it was fun putting everything together: the taped hands, the “sweat”, the single light casting shadow and creating a mood. This kind of collaboration is what I enjoy most about photography. I know it’s usually not like this, but when people contribute, there’s an extra spark of energy in the air and it’s contagous. I hope to catch it again and again!
